Color Combo wheel

As colorists we all have our go to and favorite color combos. I used to have lots of bits of paper and sticky notes with the combos written on them… until I decided to come up with a better way.

I created a wheel where you can jot down your favorite combos and also sometimes it is nice to have a visual reminder of what the combos look like rather than just having the numbers written on a piece of paper.

Using Craft Artist software I created the basic wheels. (download this for your use here)

You can add the codes for your favorite combos via software program, or just write the codes one you have colored the sections. I choose to add mine via software as my handwriting is awful !

All you need to do is print the elements above onto your preferred high-quality cardstock and cut them out, including the the “pie” section on the second circle.

Then color the top section using  the True Black Spectrum Noir marker. Alternatively, you could leave it white, use your eBrush to add black to it, or why not print it on patterned or colored cardstock.

You then need to color your sections. I have colored mine from light at the top to darkest at the lowest point, as you can see above.

Then using a pokey tool, line up your circles and carefully make a small hole in the center through both circles. Use a brad to fix them in place.

You should now be able to turn the top wheel to your different sections.

And it really is as easy as that! I have one for skin combos, one for hair combos, and still others fo rspecific color (like reds) combos.

I have found this is a lot easier, and neater than all the sticky notes and random pieces of paper, plus it takes no time at all to create.
